[00:00:00] This is the FCB Podcast Network. Turn it up! The latest celebrity news and gossip! It's Tea Time with Ro on the Outlaws Radio Show. Alright, so I have so much tea because you know I miss last week and I've just been...
[00:00:28] I've just been... I've got a lot of... A lot! But we go start off with Jay Z. I've never spoken to him so this is new news like I'm usually on particular type of celebrities. If you may, but...
[00:00:44] So the awards just bypassed us and they just actually named Jay Z the greatest rapper of all time. And that is in the top 50... I believe. I mean, I don't know how often about that truthfully because... I mean he's great, he's good but I was hit against him.
[00:01:04] I think it's blasphemous. And I am a Jay Z fan. Haven't been too crazy about his last couple albums, but in general, I'm a Jay Z fan. Jay Z is in my top 5 without question. Number 1? No, no. And I'll just say it. This is where I'm coming from.
[00:01:26] This is what it is. Two podcasts number one for me. So you know what? Actually Darvio, I want to tell you this. I'm going to go with the first... I'm going to give you the first 10, okay? Because they're 50 but I'm just going to give you the first 10, okay?
[00:01:38] So we're going to go from 1 to 10. Jay Z is number one. Kendrick Lamar is number 2. Number 3. Number 3. Let's do... How don't let's do this? Because I want to go through... I'm going to tell you if I will put them in the top 10 or not. All right, go ahead.
[00:01:56] Start again from number 1. Darvio 1, okay. Jay Z. You've talked about your top number one. Kendrick Lamar, top 10, not number 2. Nas. Top 5. Two podcasts. He's my number 1. Eminem. Top 10. The Toria's B.I.G. Little Wayne. I can see a case for top 10. For that. Drake. Yeah, Drake is probably...
[00:02:27] Would probably be the highest of the quote-unquote new rappers for me. He'd been an easing on top 10. All right, and the most, you know, Uncle Snoop Dogg? I would have ice cube above Snoop but I could... That's debatable. You could argue this. Wow, Darvio. Yeah.
[00:02:45] And number 10 Nicki Minaj. No, I disagree. That's absurd. I'm not... I'm not a female female rapper. No, no, no, that's absurd. What do you think about that? You should not be in the top 10. Like, we're not giving Brownie points just because you're a woman. Like, I'm sorry.
[00:03:04] If you're going to play this... No, like if you're going to play this sport, then like we not by the, you know, Brownie points. Like if she... If it was a top 10 women's list and yes, she's top 10.
[00:03:15] But like, in a way, in a world we're not going to tell them me that shit. So who would you replace when Nicki Minaj is? If it had to be my woman, Lil Kim. No, no! Okay, let's take a woman out.
[00:03:24] If we're going to make it a woman, it to me, it'd be Lil Kim. Why are we doing that? But what if it was that woman? Why isn't that just the greatest... Why isn't that just the top... The best rapper? So, to me... All right.
[00:03:37] So, like I said, if we're going to do women, I would say Lil Kim. If we're not going to do women... Like... I should not be letting you guys go to the gym. And neither one of them better than Ice Cube.
[00:03:46] Ain't neither one of them more important than like rock him. Ain't none of them, like what are we doing? So, like, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. So little Kim is actually at number 31. Who did you say, Dirty? Dirty on this? One. Thirty-one, really? Yeah.
[00:04:01] Wait a minute, wait a minute. Wait a minute, wait a minute. Hold on, hold on, hold on. Let me process this. Okay. Nicki Minaj is in the top 10. Over... No woman. No woman. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Check this out.
[00:04:16] Nicki Minaj is in the top 10. Over the woman who created the blueprint that she followed? That's yep. How does that work? Listen to this. That's the best way to get this done. Is the original. Where do you agree with this top 10?
[00:04:36] Well, I mean, I don't think Lil Wayne should be in the top 10. I don't either, but that's... I think that's a defensible position. I don't think... So what was your place, Lil Wayne? Little Wayne with it? I'm partial to guys who paved the way. So like...
[00:04:51] I just don't think... I mean, I just don't think... I like Lil Wayne when I was growing up, but as I grew up, I realized I... A lot of Lil Wayne's bars was kind of like... This basic interview. I'm plus there's this whole cloud about like...
[00:05:05] I did people write for him, which it kind of seems like they did. I know, Gilly definitely helped him along the way. We'll just leave it at that. But I mean, I just don't think that... I don't think he's wanted to take quote, greatest rappers.
[00:05:19] And I mean, that could be... That leaves things very wide open, right? Like, I'm okay with JZVN number one. Because when you take a look at it, like JZ got more than enough classic albums, I think his bars was topped here. I think he was...
[00:05:33] It's a defensible piece. He's not disagree with it, but it's a defensible piece. He's last... I mean, that's just... Like, if somebody says like, Pock and B, it can't be number one for me, because like they just weren't around long enough. Like, I'm cool with that.
[00:05:48] Like, I'm... That's fine with me. Because in reality, it's true. Like, we talking... If you give me JZ's career versus two-pox career, I'm taking JZ's career because I get 25 years of... Like, for the most part, you know, the last...
[00:06:02] You could say like now he'd do a features and stuff. But I mean, I mean, JZ's 50... No, no, they was... They was releasing two-pox albums until 2006. Yeah, but I mean, like, he wasn't making nothing new. Or is that just the new 23? Hmm? Like, in 2023 is like, JZ, like,
[00:06:19] the now of the new best rapper, like over... Oh, he was 50. I was 50, so... Like, here's the thing. It's... That one isn't as much of an abomination to me, because JZ isn't my top five no matter what. Right? So it's...
[00:06:36] I like the older JZ just like I like the older one. I don't know, too. I don't, too. But for me, it's Park Nause Big J and Cube. That's my top five. You know what? Actually, I was going to tell you, Ice Cube is on...
[00:06:51] Uh, he's on the list. Number 18. No, he's top five. How do you feel about that, Don't you? Yeah, I mean, Cube was... Somebody could art. I guess you can make the argument that Cube is in top five. I don't know if a 18 feels kind of low.
[00:07:11] Yeah, you can make it... Because I'm also thinking... I'm also thinking... But how do you say he's not top 10? Well, because it just, you know, a lot of these... Even in sports where it's like, greatest versus best, right?
[00:07:22] Okay, I think, you know, greatness and best could be different. Right? Like, I think... I don't really think anybody is necessarily better than Ice Cube. Or, like, yeah, better or greater. That's my thing. Like, alright, you could argue that like, new or guys have more creative bars
[00:07:41] and all that type of stuff. But like, I don't really understand how you could say that Sure, greater than people who built this. It's almost like... Yeah, I feel like... We might be better in it. Like, you know, I appreciate it.
[00:07:56] But I feel like, you know, these dudes, right? You know, like they don't want to pay the weight. Yeah. Like, you ain't greater. Like, Kendrick is not greater than Rockham. He might be better than him. I... I don't know if that is. Yeah, like, Eric being a Rockham.
[00:08:12] I don't know if that's... We gotta get Robin. Yeah. I might be like this. But I don't know his name. So Kendrick could be better. Like, Kendrick could be better than him. I see what you're saying. That's the same part. Because he's a...
[00:08:24] That's a new humanized little Kim argument. I'm making it. So yeah. So I'll see what you're saying. Like, because I'm... Yeah. Go ahead, go ahead. I can't. Nause got the blueprint from Rockham. Two-plot was similar to Rockham. You know what I mean? Rockham.
[00:08:38] That's your favorite rapper's favorite rapper. I'm gonna have to go look him up after the show because I mean... Yeah. A lot of the guys that you like, the most got a lot of their cadence and style. Rockham was the first guy who was rapping like that. Yep.
[00:08:55] Wow. So Nause basically got his sauce from him. Yeah. Everybody's got his sauce from him. Yeah. Everybody's got his sauce from him. It's what he cast for. Well, before right before you had people like a rockham. And now the rappers before that was like, Hey, yo!
[00:09:13] Those kind of like that kind of like cartoony. No! You know what I mean? Like that kind of stuff. And rockham was the one who switched that whole... That whole thing up and spoke and started doing more... Like a poet, you know what I mean?
[00:09:28] I'm gonna show you more rappers were like that because I like that stuff. Yeah. I like that. The new type of rap. I just can't seem to like... I can't believe it. I can't believe it. I can't believe it. Like, like, I like Drake. I'm a Drake fan.
[00:09:42] Rick Ross is my dude. I love Rick Ross. I do like Kendrick. Kendrick is a real good. They call it a rap. You know what I'm saying? So I like some of the newer guys, but I'm with you Robin.
[00:09:53] Like this is hard for me to kind of like... And they say wow stuff and they cadence be off. They make in sound effects mostly. That's why I like that's why I think Jay is... That's why I think Jay got the greatest argument in my opinion.
[00:10:09] You got Variety. For being the greatest. Because Jay's he put out classics in a 90s. He put out classics in a 2000s. He was still pretty good in the 2010s. And I'm pretty good with an incredible album. Like, I mean, Jay has really been great for three decades.
[00:10:35] Yeah. That's a great time. That takes one that takes an incredible amount of talent, but two it also takes an... you got to be able to adapt. I think it's like I said, I think it's an arguable position. He's not number one for me.
[00:10:46] Two podcasts number one for me. Hands down. Period. But Jay's he's in my top five right? So so is there really that much of a difference between one and three right? Because or four for me because I got it to me. It's Pock, Nas, Big J and Cube.
[00:11:04] That's my stuff. And I thought if you had to do a top five, what's your top five, don't you? Um, man, that's hard off the top of my head because I don't know. Like in terms of talent. Could I not take the list of 50 just real quick?
[00:11:22] I don't have like I can just read the list, the list real fast. Like would you be able to grasp it and just pick who you want it? Well, I could tell you right now. So like in terms of talent and greatness, I try to fuse them.
[00:11:34] I feel like the three most talented guys I've ever heard will foremost talent. It got us ever heard in some in no order are Jay, rock him and I'm putting rock him in there just off sheer greatness because all of y'all wanted to be like me.
[00:11:49] So I must like it don't you know what I'm saying? I don't get it. I'm asking if that's the best one to be they all ought to guys that you love love me. So rock him is go to in that standpoint. So wait, don't say it.
[00:12:02] But no wait wait. Jay, rock him, not big and yay those are the five most talented people I've ever heard. That's just real hard. Okay. So number 13 he's on number 13, rock him. And Kanye is on number 11. 11. Yeah.
[00:12:21] I mean, I could see I could I mean, honestly, where we are, I can see somebody saying like, I don't even want to want to list. Yeah. I mean, like just because of like where we are, like I'm sure I mean come on.
[00:12:32] This is a billboard list, like you know there were probably some people that from the he's been speaking out against it. I heard involved with making this look you know what I mean? Like I can understand him not making the list but I just personally.
[00:12:43] Yeah, yeah, doesn't know. Yeah, he's just stopping. It's like making a point guard list in 2050 without having magic Johnson. There may be guys who have come up because the game is so advanced that now magic you could say like all, well, he playing the 80s.
[00:12:58] It's now 275 like we got guys that are bigger stronger faster than him. But it's like, yeah, all these guys that you admire. They favorite point guard was magic Johnson. Everybody wanted to be like magic.
[00:13:09] So he got to be on the foot and then to the end of time. Well, and this is one of the reasons and then robbing will move on to the next time.
[00:13:15] But this is one of the reasons why I don't really care for the brown Jordan debate all like that because first of all, it's hard to compare arrows and the game has changed so much.
[00:13:25] Now for me, for me I have Jordan as my one and the brown as my two but I think people who have LeBron as their one. I think it's a it's a defensible argument and it's hard.
[00:13:38] It's hard to compare arrows like that when things have changed so much. You know what I mean? Where do you put so I can wrap where do you put a Cumodil necklace? Or do you care S1? Okay, or S1 exactly.
[00:13:53] Where do you put, where do you put guys like that on the they believe in Scarface? Yes. You know what I'm saying, God's who or God that didn't have the commercial success. I think. But like if you put them in a booth, they would dog somebody's guys.
[00:14:07] Like if you just put J to kiss at his best in a booth with Drake, he would eat his heart. What do you do with the better? But he makes better songs. He makes better music, but like if we just talk in if we just want to drink
[00:14:21] Corner in the Bronx or in Brooklyn or wherever in Philly J or J to kiss. I give you another one. I would be like beans. What do you do? Like these guys dog somebody's got today.
[00:14:34] Yeah and I give you another what do you do with the techno right. You know what I mean? You're here. Here's a guy who has never really had mainstream success like that. But he's one of those guys who's your favorite rapper's favorite rapper. And his and he's incredible.
[00:14:54] He's incredible, you know what I mean? So it's it's always hard to that. That's why I look at it like the Jordan LeBron thing. I don't really think that there's a wrong answer to that.
[00:15:03] I pick Jordan because I think Jordan did more with less because LeBron is just naturally physically more gifted and talented. But I don't think there's a wrong answer on that because it's just it's hard. It's hard when you're you know what I mean?
[00:15:16] Like and then other people are making, I've heard other people make arguments like okay well how come Karim doesn't get consideration. Doesn't get goat consideration. How come Kobe doesn't get goat consideration like or magic right? So it's like it's hard.
[00:15:32] When you make these lists, it's hard because errors change and they're you know how do you how do you compile the best in order when you're talking about over 20 30 40 50 years? How do you do that?
[00:15:45] That's why I think it's I think it is also a difference between like who's the greatest and then who's the best because there will be better West Coast rappers than cube.
[00:15:55] But I don't know if you could say somebody is greater than him because he to me for my money cube is the first real guy from the West Coast that people really respected.
[00:16:05] Because I can just tell you a lot of back east, you know those guys on the West Coast wasn't really respected like that. Like in the same thing from the south right that's the other thing with rap right there is cultural and low cow differences too.
[00:16:20] Like East Coast rap is just different from you know the sound that came out of Atlanta. Yeah and the sound that comes out in New Orleans is different than the sound that comes out of Texas right and Cali got
[00:16:33] they all separate thing because you got to LA guys, but then you also got the North North Northern California like that's a total of the West Sound where we're at it's right you know I mean with with bone and twist and mgk like their their sounds are different.
[00:16:53] Yep no man so absolutely all right since we went way over on that one robin we got a few minutes left pick the best one the next best one you got left. Oh wow so what's going to hit you a little beyond say but.
[00:17:09] I don't think there's the best one. You know what I got to hit you with some hot tea so. Since y'all went over in you know like some little sassy nose y'all wouldn't stop talking. So drink we're going to go with that when that was good.
[00:17:29] We going with that one okay all right. All right so drink is ordered to sit for deposition in xx and tachian murder trial. Drake of all people he's like the grassy. Like what? So you know, I'm sure we you know just you know by rumors.
[00:17:55] I've been based off of what I've read and you know my research that I've done. I read that you know xxx ten tachian said before he was killed that if anything happened to him Drake had something to do with it. And not long after the slaying of him.
[00:18:19] There was a song that came out by Drake and in his lyrics he was basically saying if you would a kept your mouth shut you would still be alive. Wow. So I'm not kept your mouth shut on live you still be alive.
[00:18:34] Wow so I will say this I have not heard that song so I can't confirm more denied whether he did or didn't say that because I've heard it. I will say this.
[00:18:47] And this is not necessarily that I agree with this because I think it's a first amendment issue when prosecutors start using. Rapp lyrics against you you don't see them do that in any other genre of music or of any other genre of entertainment period.
[00:19:05] But as long as they're going to do that. Rappers you need to be more careful about what you say in your lyrics. Because Drake like right anything you say anything you say anything you say can and will be used to get you in a court of law.
[00:19:27] Like rap. It no matter who you are was the leprechaue are it don't matter that's right rappers have to be. More careful that's a close. Yeah that's interesting. I'm I have no idea I'm really kind of curious to see where it is goes.
[00:19:45] My guess would be it doesn't go anywhere just because like you're not really going to be able to probably you know really going to be able to tie direct to this to this young man's murder but I mean who knows I.
[00:20:00] I be shocked if it went anywhere but I it I'm really interested to see what happens. Do you agree with a cross-acute is using rappers lyrics against him? Hmm.
[00:20:14] If you stupid enough to actually be doing the wild stuff that you sang and yes, but then I also I mean like you say it's not this isn't a thing for every other genre of music right so or entertainment.
[00:20:29] So yes and no because I think we should punish stupidity but I also you know I also see the other side like well we don't do it when rock and roll stars you know talk about using drugs and then once somebody on there tour bus has an overdose like should they be help responsible like we don't do that so I don't you know I don't know but.
[00:20:54] You know I again like if you are making songs about selling drugs and shooting people and you're actually doing that well yeah you need to go sit down. Yeah, that's a.
[00:21:11] Yeah, I agree with that. I don't I have an issue with with them using it on first amendment grounds but if you're actually committing the crimes that you're talking about then yeah you're probably going to pay a stupid text.
