Now this is the FCB podcast network. You just listen to yourself Presents with Davis. I saw tweet recently that showed a picture of a young mother with her infant bundled to her chest, working the cash register at a fast food restaurant. The caption said, America is a capitalist dystopian healthscape. Childcare should be free for everyone. Service workers deserve a living wage and to be treated with dignity. As it turned out, the woman was the owner and was most likely filling in out of the cash register, just quickly to help when she popped in to check on things. Regardless, I always find it amazing that anyone thinks childcare is a human right and thus should be free. You get what you pay for, and your children are the most valuable humans and frankly the most valuable anything in your life. Childcare should be expensive. Your child is priceless. Yes, it's terrible. We live in a society that increasingly forces women to work outside of the home to make ends meet. I agree, but free childcare is not the answer, nor is it something you should want. The value you place on childcare will equal the value of the service they offer. I'm Kira Davison, I'm just saying.
