I'm Just Sayin - California Grooming

I'm Just Sayin - California Grooming

[00:00:00] This is the FCB Podcast Network.

[00:00:07] Just Listen to Yourself Presents, I'm just saying with Kira Davis.

[00:00:15] A California school district is under fire for a disturbing lesson plan from a fifth grade

[00:00:20] sexual education course that was recently shared on social media.

[00:00:25] The lesson is a list of bullet points in a Q&A format explaining to children how to

[00:00:31] know what adults they can share, quote, private issues with.

[00:00:37] The handout is titled Trusted Adults and here's what it says.

[00:00:42] Who is a trusted adult?

[00:00:43] A trusted adult is someone you can talk with about anything.

[00:00:47] Someone you feel happy being around.

[00:00:49] Someone who is a good listener or someone who has helped you before.

[00:00:53] What kind of things can you tell a trusted adult about?

[00:00:57] Anything you want, things that make you feel scared, uncomfortable or confused.

[00:01:01] A problem you are having including a problem in a friendship or other relationship that

[00:01:06] is a problem.

[00:01:08] A trusted adult will try to help you no matter what the problem is.

[00:01:12] What would a trusted adult do if you told them that something bad or dangerous had happened

[00:01:18] to you or you were worried that something might happen to you?

[00:01:22] A trusted adult would try to help you solve the problem, be understanding, get help and

[00:01:27] work hard to keep you safer.

[00:01:30] Do I only need one trusted adult in my life?

[00:01:33] Some people have one person who they talk with about any issue or problem they are facing.

[00:01:39] Some people have different trusted adults they talk to depending on what they want to

[00:01:42] talk about.

[00:01:44] It is good to be able to identify who you would talk to in different situations.

[00:01:51] This fifth grade sex ed lesson plan is actually a lesson in grooming.

[00:01:56] Child groomers put themselves in the position of being a trusted adult and prep their victims

[00:02:01] for abuse by making them feel happy, making them feel special and helping them with their

[00:02:07] problems.

[00:02:08] They use the very tactics laid out in this so called lesson plan to lower the boundaries

[00:02:14] of their victims and become those trusted adults this fifth grade lesson plan is promoting.

[00:02:20] This is suspiciously missing from these bullet points are parents.

[00:02:24] This same district, Mount Diablo Unified School District has also included a video in

[00:02:29] the curriculum that encourages students to watch pornography framing it as a normal

[00:02:35] practice.

[00:02:36] This is not a sex ed lesson.

[00:02:38] This is a lesson designed by groomers and explicitly meant to push children to seek safety

[00:02:45] and solace with non-familiar adults.

[00:02:48] We can no longer afford to be diplomatic about these types of intrusions on the minds

[00:02:53] of our children.

[00:02:54] This is grooming and it is in classrooms across the country.

[00:02:59] Make sure you know what's being taught in your child's classroom.

[00:03:03] We can no longer trust the trusted adults in our children's schools.
