Now this is the FCB podcast network. Just Listen to Yourself presents I'm saying with Davis. A California school district is under fire for a disturbing lesson plan from a fifth grade sexual education course that was recently shared on social media. The lesson is a list of bullet points in a Q and A format explaining to children how to know what adults they can share quote private issues with. The handout is titled Trusted Adults and here's what it says. Who is a trusted adult? A trusted adult is someone you can talk with about anything, someone you feel happy being around, someone who is a good listener, or someone who has helped you before. What kind of things can you tell a trusted adult about anything you want, things that make you feel scared, uncomfortable, or confused. A problem you are having, including a problem in a friendship or other relationship that is a problem, A trusted adult will try to help you, no matter what the problem is. What would a trusted adult do if you told them that something bad or dangerous had happened to you, or you were worried that something might happen to you, A trusted adult would try to help you solve the problem, be understanding, get help, and work hard to keep you safer. Do I only need one trusted adult in my life? Some people have one person who they talk with about any issue or problem they are facing. Some people have different trusted adults they talk to depending on what they want to talk about. It is good to be able to identify who you would talk to in different situations. This fifth grade sex ad lesson plan is actually a lesson in grooming child Groomers put themselves in the position of being a trusted adult and prep their victims for abuse by making them feel happy, making them feel special, and helping them with their problems. They use the very tactics laid out in this so called lesson plan to lower the boundaries of their victims and become those trusted adults. This fifth grade lesson plan is promoting. What is suspiciously missing from these bullet points are parents. This same district, Mount Diablo Unified School District has also included a video in the curriculum that encourages students to watch pornography, framing it as a normal practice. This is not a sex ad lesson. This is a lesson designed by groomers and explicitly meant to push children to seek safety and solace with non familial adults. We can no longer afford to be diplomatic about these types of intrusions on the minds of our children. This is grooming and it is in classrooms across the country. Make sure you know what's being taught in your child's classroom. We can no longer trust the trusted adults in our children's schools. I'm Kira Davis, and I'm just saying.
