Now. This is the FCB Podcast Network. This is pillow Talk with Allie Michelle on the FCB Podcast Network. Welcome back to another episode of pillow Talk with Alie Michelle. I am your host, Alie Michelle. I have a very disturbing story to go over today. If you haven't seen the news, haven't heard about it, I'm about to explain it. I'm about to go over it and I'm about to get into depth with it. It hits close to home because there's a couple of cities over from where I live. It's in my home state, and let's roll into it. Okay, So, North Olmstead Police bust human trafficking ring teachers among ten men arrested. This is absolutely horrifying. I'm going to just skim over a few sentence days and I am going to blast their names because people like this deserve to be known for what they do. It's absolutely horrifying. We're protecting our children, our women, our youth, anybody that is a victim of something like this. This is absolutely horrifying. So it starts off by North Olmsted City Police Department in Ohio in a sting operation, arrested ten men alleged to be a part of a human trafficking ring, including a former official of a network of schools and another reportedly a former teacher. Fox News reported or Fox eight reported according to his LinkedIn, Dan Keenan, Junior, fifty three of Westlake, one of the leaders of a particular human trafficking ring, has served as a super intendant of Westlake City School District from two thousand and seven to two fourteen. Freaking disgusting, as it goes on to say, Keenan currently works as an executive director of the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation. In a minute, I'll explain what that is. It's but for now it's a Cleveland based nonprofit that supports public schools with grant funding. To just know that this type of person was amongst our youth is absolutely horrifying. Then it goes on to say that another suspect held by police is Jeffrey O. Ohl, fifty three, of Lagrange, who teaches social studies at Keystone Middle School in Lagrange. What the frick. Eight other men were also picked up in a one day operation headed up by the North Olmsted Police and West Shore Enforcement Bureau and Ohio Internet Crimes against Children Task Force. The suspects included Ahmed ajabris A l j A. Bri I forty one of Cleveland, Shaw chew on Sha first name, last name, c h u w A m Of thirty two of Erie, Pennsylvania, William Minor fifty two of Cleveland, Irwin Palma Taurus thirty three of Garrettsville, Jacob Saffron thirty two of Royal Oak, Michigan, Raymond Schillinger fifty three of Akron, Carl Whipley Junior fifty five, and Perry Earrol Jackson thirty five of Lorraine, y'all lor Rayne. So get this? According to the police, Jackson, a registered Tier three sex offender, was earlier captured for promoting in our promoting prostitution and is currently in the Cayahaka County Jail according to the Attorney General Office. Oh oh, I get this. The police also held a person said to be an illegal immigrant. Oh yes, yes, let's just let all of these criminal come over to commit these crimes against our fellow neighbors, our daughters, our nieces, our granddaughters, our aunts, our mothers, and our brothers. Oh yeah, let's just bring them on. It then goes on to say. During the sting, the police discovered at least seven possible victims of human trafficking and directed them to resources like the Canopy Child Advocacy Center, the Child Rape Crisis I'm Sorry, the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center, and the Harriet Tubban Movement. The North Olmsted Police Department will not tolerate this type of activity in our city. Police Chief Bob Wagner is quoted in the release quote, we will continue to investigate and prosecute those individuals that come to our city and violate our laws. We greatly appreciate the help from our law enforcement partners and look forward to continuing this relationship in the future. So I do want to say something about the police force and those that claim and scream defund the police. The these men and women who worked around the clock to capture these disgusting, despicable people deserves more than what you scream at them. They have protected, They have now probably prevented hundreds of children from being exploited in this disgusting, repulsive act, acts that happen in our backyards. If you don't think it's happening in your city, you're wrong. If you don't think it's happening to like your neighbor. You're wrong. We desperately need our police departments. We desperately need border control, we desperately need people who put their lives on the lines for the sake of our children. It's absolutely disgusting that our president of the United States has also claimed that, you know that police aren't important or I'm gonna I'm not sure if his exact quote, but you know, police brutality or whatever he has to say. But what about this, what about this? So, the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation was actually started by a woman and her name was Martha Holden Jennings. She had a lifelong interest in aiding and improving of elementary and secondary public schools. In nineteen fifty eight, she stated or she started Martha Holden Jennings Foundation with initial request of five point five million from the estate of her late husband, Andrew D. Jennings, an executive with an international business machines corporation, who died in nineteen thirty one. She had a vision for the foundation entitled enhancing and promoting higher achievement in parts of the young students and their teachers. Ultimately, she hoped that this support would bring the greater recognition of teacher profession at the elementary and secondary levels. Over the years, the Foundation has dispersed millions of dollars of grants, typically ranging in size from one in two hundred of thousands of dollars. The Foundation does not make grants for multiple year projects, whether requests must be for one year only. Depending on the status of the project, an organization may resubmit a proposal for continue funding the Lifelong List Foundation beneficiary, you know benefit. Sometimes I stumble over my words, but this included area of colleges and universities, as well as the Beck Center for Arts and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, the Cleveland Folk Arts Association, the Cleveland Museum of Arts, the Cleveland Society for the Blind, and the University Circle Incorporated. Now I'm just gonna go on a limb here, and this is just good a conspiracy. So disclaimer, this is just a conspiracy because I love me a good conspiracy theory. I met you, this mfort was following money to forward this ring. Let's play close attention to this. In the next couple of months, right, a couple of years, maybe come out that he was funneling money through this foundation right under people's noses. Now, not saying the foundation has any part in the trafficking ring. However, I bet you this dude was funneling money. So then I just found another report and it said, you know, while yesterday's operation was occurring, the conclusion of a separate investigation into Stephen Gilbert thirty six of Illyria led to his conviction of thirty one human trafficking offenses. He was subsequently sentenced to life in prison with eligibility for parole after one hundred and seventy two and a half to one hundred and eighty two years in prison. Good Riddance says detectives found that Gilbert ran a human trafficking ring that preyed upon numerous women who were addicted to narcotic low piece of scum. I must say, he is disgusting and this is literally I used to live in Illyria. That was my That's where I moved out by mysel if. I had my own little spot. I was independent with a child. And to think that this dude, oh he looks weird. This dude was just roaming around my town. Oh, I cannot even deal. I give huge, huge, huge kudos. Is to the police department and the forces that were on top of this. I commend you deeply as a woman who, what like I stated, was independent, had her own place, was alone. Okay, in a city that this happens to, it happens in every city. You could probably be in the safest city and this happens in your backyard. Like I said before, this happens everywhere. Let me see what Ohio ranks in the trafficking stuff. So I just typed into Google what is Ohio's rank in sex trafficking? And so many articles came up. In twenty seventeen, it said Ohio ranks fourth in US for numbers of calls of National Human Trafficking Hotline. Toledo rated fourth for youth sex trade in the United States and that was posted February eleventh, twenty ten. September thirteenth, twenty eighteen. Ohio is currently number four in sex trafficking rates twenty twenty one trafficking in person's reports. Oh my gosh, this is just insane. So so I we take a private airplane. Um, not that we're a bougie like that, but my boyfriend's dad he owns an airplane. So when we fly. We fly in his cute little I can't even tell you the name of it anymore. I don't even remember the name. But we'll go into private airports and there are signs blasted everywhere. Um, this is for women. This is for the women out here. This could save your life. There there's posted phone numbers everywhere. I'm not going to tell you where because I don't want somebody to get just and not let you go to the bathroom. But they are everywhere. And if you need to memorize a number in your life as a young woman, I recommend memorizing this number that I'm about to tell you. It is the It's it's the National Human Trafficking Hotline. It's eight eight eight three seven three seven eight eight eight. If you know or you see any type of suspicious activity, called the non emergency number of your local police or the twenty four hour Human Trafficking hotline. I would also kind call nine one one. I wouldn't even take the time to search my local police station number, even though that's saved in my phone. But to save a life, to save a to save a woman, to save even a young boy, even anybody who's who you think is being trafficked. If it doesn't look right, it doesn't smell right, it doesn't act right, it's not right. Call the number even if you're wrong. It's better to be safe than sorry. Again, the number is eight eight eight three seven three seven eight eight eight. I do have a question though, for the governor. I want to know what is being done? What more can we be doing as as Ohioans? What can we be putting in place? Is there any any any other ways to prevent this from happening? Like it's I'm going to look up the exact number of what Ohio's ranking is. Okay, So, as of June twenty twenty two, Ohio ranks fifth for human trafficking incidences. However, the state's rate of human trafficking is about three point eight four victims per one hundred thousand residents, putting Ohio at fourth worst ratio in the nation. Y'all, that is absolutely horrifying. The number one is California. The top ten, okay, so, the top ten is Mississippi, District of Columbia, the Vada, Missouri, Nebraska, California, Oregon, Florida. Oh my goodness, but the number one city is Los Angeles. What cities in Ohio have most human trafficking. This improved in twenty twenty two, as Ohio currently ranks fourth in the US for the number of reported human trafficking cases within Ohio. Mahoning and Trumbull Counties are two of the major reporting hot spots. That was posted on at as dot com June sixteenth, twenty twenty two. How do you spot trafficking signs? Warning signs of human trafficking, Appearing malnourished, signs of physical injuries and abuse, avoiding eye contact, Social interaction and authority figure slash law enforcement seeming to adhere or scriptured or rehearsed responses in social interaction, lacking official identification documents, says more items. Let this pull up. Oh, there is a lot? Okay, so working excessively long hours, living out a place of employment, checking into hotels motels with older men, and referring to those males as boyfriends or quote daddy, which is often street slang for pimp. Poor physical or dental health tattoos, branding on the neck or lower back, untreated, sexually transmitted diseases, small children serving in a family restaurant. That's scary. Security measures that appear to keep people inside and established barbed wire inside of fences, bars covering the inside of windows, not allowing people to go into public or speak for themselves. Interesting it says, what are the three red flags for human trafficking? Red flags for sex trafficking? Person seems overly fearful, submissive, tense, or paranoid. Person is deferring to another person before giving information. Person has physical injuries or branding such as name tattoos on face or chest, tattoos about money, insects are or pimp phrases. It's just better to be safe than sorry. If you see something totally wrong, please say something. As far as these discussing vile human beings that are committing these crimes, they're destroying lives, They're ruining mothers, daughters, nieces, sons, brothers, lives, and they don't care. There needs to be higher punishment. Life in prison is just ridiculous. I'm not saying what I think should happen. I don't want to get booted from my network, but it's just absolutely horrifying, especially on children. Could you imagine your principle or your superintendent is involved in this and people want to say, oh, you know we're gonna touch based on this real quick, but before that, we're going to go into a break. These days, it seems like everybody's talking, but no one is actually listening to the things they're saying. Critical thinking isn't dead, but it's definitely low on oxygen. I am your host, Ellie Michelle, and we are going over the North Olmstead sex trafficking sting that just took place. It hits home to me, it's in my it's near my town. I've been there. It's absolutely horrifying. So there's this huge uproar about allowing boys into the girl's bathroom in elementary schools. Could you could do you understand how dangerous that is? And this is an anti trans This is an anti gay. This is pro protection of our young girls. Allowing a boy or men who are who are just self identifying, has no nothing other than they just claim that they want to be a girl today. Going into that little girl's bathroom is a setup or disaster. These girls are absolutely terrified into the locker rooms. There needs to be rules. Now, if you're transitioning and you want to go into a separate whatever, sure let's build a separate area for you. But to go into a little girl who's ten years old changing for gym class, or or you know she started her her girls thing and you know you want to boyd to be in there, look at what's going on. Parents need to start speaking up. And that's another thing that I'm so passionate about is parents are becoming so fearful of the school system. It's disgusting. You are your child's advocate, You are your only child's advocate. If you're not standing up for them, who will stop being afraid of these people like the superintendent stopping fearful because you could be saving lives. I'm not saying every superintendent, sand I'm not saying every teacher's bad. That's not what I'm saying. But as parents, it is our soul duty to protect our children. If you are not, shame the heck on you. So keep an eye out on kids. Keep an eye out on your neighbors. You should love your neighbor. You shouldn't have you know, you shouldn't be anti neighbor. Keep an eye out. We're supposed to protect one another before we depend on other people to protect us. Like you know the government. No protect your neighbor, protect your family, Protect your loved ones at all costs. Watch out for specific signs, signs of abuse, signs of neglect, all of which you could be saving a life. And with that, I am going to let you guys, enjoy the rest of your day. Thanks for hanging with me. You are listening to pillow Talk with Alie Michelle. I am your host, Ellie Michelle.
